The sister wine bar to Castagna, OK Omens opened in June 2017 with Chef Justin Woodward, Wine Director Brent Braun (pictured, right) and Owner Monique Siu transforming the former Café Castagna space. The result is an approachable wine list and low proof cocktails alongside a progressive à la carte food menu in a bright and welcoming space.
Sommelier Brent Braun’s easy-to-navigate wine list includes three sections: one focused on natural wines from around the world (What is Natural Wine?), an ode to Riesling (All the Riesling in the Land), and aged bottlings from Siu’s cellar (Age Page). More than a hundred wines are available by the bottle, ranging in price from $35 to $200.
A playful and progressive New American menu from Chef Justin Woodward accompanies the comprehensive wine program. Dishes include chicken liver mousse with pickled vegetables (like a banh mi), beignets filled with cheddar cheese, and tuna butsu with avocado, limeleaf, and potato chips.
